Description

New Caledonia is a French territory known for its beaches and marine life, but has numerous endemic bird species to lure us in, especially the charismatic Kagu. Our primary birding locations will be near Farino, Mont Koghi and the marvelous Parc Provincial de la Rivière Bleue. We will be focusing our birding in tropical rainforest and shrubland.

What species can be spotted?

Kagu (national bird), Red-throated parrotfinch, Horned parakeet, Crow honeyeater, New Caledonian thicketbird, Cloven-feathered dove, New Caledonian friarbird, White-bellied goshawk, New Caledonian myzomela, Yellow-bellied flyrobin, Striated starling, New Caledonian parakeet, Goliath Imperial pigeon, New Caledonian crow, Large/Small Lifou White-eye, Green-backed White-eye and Barred Honeyeater.
